In addition to the common documentation methods of cylinder seals by rolled impression and photography, this collection also offers 3D-models and digital impressions. The 3D-scans can be performed without impacting the objects, thus reducing the risks. This method allows even the most fragile of seals to be documented, including those too delicate to be used for a rolled impression. These scans offer a true-to-scale reproduction of the seals.

BioVeL supports the development and use of workflows to process data. It offers the possibility to either use already made workflows or create own. They are underpinned by a range of analytical and data processing functions (generally provided as Web Services or R scripts) to support common biodiversity analysis tasks. The Rotterdam Ophthalmic Data Repository (ROD-Rep) contains data sets related to ophthalmology that the Rotterdam Ophthalmic Institute has made freely available for researchers worldwide. This portal is an initiative of the Rotterdam Ophthalmic Institute, which is the research institute of the Rotterdam Eye Hospital. It provides the datasets from ophthalmic research (includes measurements such as visual fields and various imaging modalities, grades, etc.) for sharing and re-use to accelerate multi-disciplinary research, resulting in better ophthalmic care. The portal is the successor of the ORGIDS (or Open Rotterdam Glaucoma Imaging Data Sets site); which was an initiative of Koen Vermeer, Hans Lemij and Netty Dorrestijn and initial financial support was provided by Stichting Glaucoomfonds (The Netherlands).
