The Linguistic Data Consortium (LDC) is an open consortium of universities, libraries, corporations and government research laboratories. It was formed in 1992 to address the critical data shortage then facing language technology research and development. Initially, LDC's primary role was as a repository and distribution point for language resources. Since that time, and with the help of its members, LDC has grown into an organization that creates and distributes a wide array of language resources. LDC also supports sponsored research programs and language-based technology evaluations by providing resources and contributing organizational expertise. The Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) is a national trusted digital repository (TDR) for Ireland’s social and cultural data. We preserve, curate, and provide sustained access to a wealth of Ireland’s humanities and social sciences data through a single online portal. The repository houses unique and important collections from a variety of organisations including higher education institutions, cultural institutions, government agencies, and specialist archives. DRI has staff members from a wide variety of backgrounds, including software engineers, designers, digital archivists and librarians, data curators, policy and requirements specialists, educators, project managers, social scientists and humanities scholars. DRI is certified by the CoreTrustSeal, the current TDR standard widely recommended for best practice in Open Science. The purpose of the Canadian Urban Data Repository (CUDR) is to provide a “home” for urban datasets.
